2024 Got Talent Competition for the Chinese Consulate General Cup successfully held

At the Eros Palace Convention Center, the Department of Chinese Language under the Faculty of Oriental Studies, LHU on November 22, 2024 successfully hosted the final round of the 2024 Got Talent Competition for the Cup of the Chinese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City. The vibrant event attracted the participation of a large number of students and audiences.

The finale saw the presence of Ms. Wang Xin Ran - Consul, Chief of Office of the Consul General of the People's Republic of China in HCM City; Mr. Zeng Zi Wei - Attaché of the Chinese Consulate in HCM City, along with representatives of Chinese Business Associations in Vietnam as sponsors and judges of the Competition.

From Dong Nai provincial leaders, there were Mr. Tran Quoc Toan - Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Vice President of the Vietnam - China Friendship Association; Ms. Tran Thuy Tien - General Secretary of the Union of Friendship Organizations, Vice President of the Vietnam - China Friendship Association. 

LHU was represented by Dr. Lam Thanh Hien – Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Lam - Vice Rector; Dr. Nguyen Huu Nghi - Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies; MA. Nguyen Thi Nhu Thuong - Vice Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies; representatives of affiliated units; lecturers and students of the Chinese Language Department.

There was also the participation of press agencies, guest universities including Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Van Lang University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology, Van Hien University and Viet Hoa Quang Chanh Secondary and High School, and more than 500 students.

The Got Talent Competition is one of the biggest events of the Department of Chinese Language, aiming to create a platform for students to show off their artistic talents while arousing their passion, creativity and desire to conquer the peak. It is also an opportunity to promote solidarity and close relationships among students of Chinese language training facilities. In addition, this is one of the effective channels to seek scholarships and jobs for LHU Chinese Language majors.

This year's Competition featured many unique highlights with various categories such as singing, dancing, musical instrument performances, Chinese musical theater as well as meticulous investments in props, costumes, and performance techniques. For students passionate about the arts and creativity, the Got Talent Competition is an opportunity for them to shine and assert themselves.

After the preliminary round on November 1, 21 best performances were selected for the final round. Among these, LHU had 15 performances while each guest university contributed one performance.

After many hours of dramatic competition, the judges selected and awarded 2 First prizes to Viet Hoa Quang Chanh Secondary and High School and LHU, 4 Second, 6 Third and 6 Consolation and 3 Impressive prizes to LHU and guest universities, respectively.

The Competition not only provides an exciting playground but also serves as a bridge that helps students gain deeper insights into Chinese culture while fostering teamwork skills and building confidence. This event has left a strong, profound and unique impression, promising a new season with many breakthroughs next year.
